Devold Undergarments Devold undergarments
In 1853 Ole Devold set up Devold with the idea of “protecting people from the elements”. The people he had in mind were Norwegian fisherman. These days sportspeople (hikers) and workers alike all layer up in Devold garments.
Over 160 years later, Devold has evolved: the Devold range of snoods, balaclavas, longjohns, and thermal vests are all made using merino wool. Merino wool is brushed so fine so that it feels like cotton, but it protects and wicks better. Devold combines wool with Lenzing to achieve comfortable fire retardancy (FR) – keeping oil workers protected from flames, as well as cool in the heat, and warm in the cold.
What Devold says: “Devold® supplies protective clothing that offers the best protection against cold, flames and heat. SAFETY FOR THE WORKPLACE. The entire range of products has our personal absolute guarantee of quality”
All products have been tested and approved in accordance to European standards (EN).
Devold Fire Protection products were the first in Europe approved according to the European standard - EN 531.
